In Mississippi, personal property inventory tax applies to various types of personal property, including furniture, fixtures, machinery, and inventory. Business personal property refers to items located within businesses and is taxable if the business is operational during the assessment period. Personal property such as inventory, furniture, and machinery used in trade or manufacture are subject to property tax. All unpaid personal property taxes are subject to a judgement and entered on the judgement roll with the Circuit Clerk of Lee County. Once the judgments have been filed with the Circuit Clerk's office, all remaining debts should be referred to American Financial Services Inc., starting in October.

The manufactured home or mobile homeowner who does not own the land on which their manufactured home or mobile home is located, whether it is a rental or non-homestead property, must declare their manufactured home or mobile home to be personal property at the time of registration. The county tax collector shall enter it on the manufactured home rolls as personal property. All unpaid mobile home taxes are subject to a judgment and entered on the judgment roll with the Circuit Clerk of Lee County. Once the judgments have been filed with the Circuit Clerk's office, all remaining debts should be referred to American Financial Services Inc., starting in October.
