Leroy E. Belk, Jr. has served as your Lee County Tax Collector since 1996. He is continuing a tradition of public service begun by his father, who served for many years as Lee County Superintendant of Education. He is a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon. He and his wife, Teresa, have three children, Trae, Laura, and Leah.
Lee County Tax Collector, Leroy Belk, Jr., recently completed the Mississippi Collector of Revenue I, II, and III education program which is newly mandated by the State of Mississippi. Six employees of the Lee County tax office completed Collector of Revenue I and II.

The Lee County Tax Collector's office has no involvement with Boat Registration, other than having boat registration forms available. If you purchase a boat from an out of state dealer, you may pay your Sales Tax (proof of payment of which is required for registration) in the Tax Office
As required by Mississippi Code Sections 27-41-49 to 27-41-89 (see the Ms. Code online at www.sos.ms.gov ) the Tax Collectors of the 82 counties and those municipalities that collect their own taxes must "sell" all land on which the taxes are not paid on either the first Monday in April or the last Monday in August. Lee County, like most counties, holds their tax sale on the last Monday in August at 9:00 a.m. each year. Because of its size, Lee County has a fairly large tax sale.
